ABOUT the founder

Shannon L. Hodge is the Founder and Executive Director of E.N.D.U.R.E. – STEM Meets Sports, LLC. Ms. Hodge started E.N.D.U.R.E. with the goal of giving youth, especially those with low-income socioeconomic needs, a platform to tap into their full potential to secure successful futures in STEM fields. Prior to founding E.N.D.U.R.E., Ms. Hodge served as the Director of Player Development for Rider University Men’s Basketball team. She was the first woman hired on the men’s basketball coaching staff. While at Rider, she initiated several community outreach initiatives for the program including: teaming up with the American Heart Association for the Southern NJ Heart Walk; motivational public speaking events that encourage at risk teens and pre-teens to stay in school; and partnering with Team IMPACT to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses. Her work with Rider Men’s Basketball and Team IMPACT continues to receive national recognition.

Before joining the Rider Men’s Basketball staff, Ms. Hodge served as an Inside Sales Account Manager for the Brooklyn Nets. As an account manager, she generated over $30,000 in ticket sale revenue for the Nets organization including group and suite sales. Although, her former supervisor praised her for her innovative approach to selling, Ms. Hodge found greater purpose in devoting her spare time to NBA Cares programs. Her passion for basketball and helping the less fortunate grew exponentially. Due to Ms. Hodge’s impressive work on major community events, her organizational leadership skills, her passion for and extensive knowledge of sports, Rider Men’s Basketball head coach, Kevin Baggett, recruited her to co-direct his summer basketball camps. Since stepping into that role in 2014, Coach Baggett has surpassed his target goals in camp enrollment largely through Ms. Hodge’s marketing strategies and generating local sponsorships. Today, Ms. Hodge remains a co-director of Baggett’s Court Vision Camps and looks forward to bringing basketball to local youth each summer.

Ms. Hodge graduated from Temple University in 2013 with bachelor’s degrees in communication and biology. Currently, Shannon is a Master of Business Administration candidate at the University of Maryland.
